We are proud to see our course becoming re-established in several notable course ranking lists.
The Golf World editors said: “The breeze that will forever buffet this linksland means it will always test. Crucially, though, for higher handicappers on inclement days, it will remain playable. Around the green, it is all about options. You only find short grass covering the mounds, swales, ridges and gullies, with Russell eager to encourage creative thinking and traditional links fun.”
The Machrie is currently at No 57 in their UK and Ireland Top 100, and at No 18 in their list of Scottish courses and most recently ranked 93rd in their Top 100s golf courses that you can play.
In the American website’s list of the best courses in Scotland, the Machrie was ranked at No 16.
NCG Top 100s
In National Club Golfer’s GB&I’s Top 100 Courses 2020, The Machrie was ranked as the 47th best course in the British Isles.
“Several members of our panel have enthusiastically returned to The Machrie since the renovation and they have all been hugely impressed,” said Dan Murphy, editor of National Club Golfer’s list, which was published at the end of 2019.

In the NCG Top 100s Scotland list, The Machrie is placed at No 29, and it is No 19 in their GB&I Fun Courses ranking.
Golf Monthly ranked The Machrie at No 91 in their Top 100 Courses UK & Ireland 2019-20.
